Who we are: 

Mobilization for Justice (formerly MFY Legal Services)  is a nonprofit law firm dedicated to serving the legal needs of low income New Yorkers and protecting the civil rights of people with disabilities.  We offer exciting opportunities for recent graduates and law students interested in pursuing a career in public service law.  We serve clients regardless of their immigration status.  We represent individual clients, engage in impact litigation, conduct policy research, and lobby for legislative reforms to advance our clients’ interests.

What we do:

Mobilization for Justice provides advice, counsel, and representation to low-income New Yorkers, in both individual and affirmative litigation, including class actions, in the areas of:

Legal issues in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy

Who we serve:

Several of our practice areas provide services to specific populations, including tenants, homeowners, people with mental illness living in the community, adult home residents, the elderly and nursing home residents, three-quarter house tenants, kinship caregivers, immigrant workers, consumers, and Superstorm Sandy victims.

Paid staff and volunteers receive mentoring and supervision to develop skills in a collegial and supportive work environment.  They gain valuable skills by assisting with client interviews, conducting legal research, and participating in project strategy meetings.
