Mobilization for Justice statement on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Today, Monday, January 20, we celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The irony is not lost on us that today is also the day Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated as United States President for the second time. While we celebrate Dr. King today, it is with great sadness and stubborn resilience that we recognize the enormous amount of work to be done. We cannot lose faith in the timeless truth he left us to ponder and fight for: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” May the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. live as we fight ceaselessly to make his vision a reality.
