ACLU Represents MFY in FOIA Appeal

MFY has retained the ACLU to represent it in an administrative FOIA appeal.  On April 24, 2013, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) refused to disclose consumers’ complaints narratives and CFPB’s follow-up to the complaints under FOIA’s privacy exemption (Exemption 6) in response to MFY’s inquiry.  In its appeal, the ACLU has challenged such a broad interpretation and has requested that the information be supplied.  The appeal was filed June 7, 2013.
